First Grade:
-Practice writing your full name (using upper case for first letter of first and last name only)
-Practice printing upper and lower case letters
-Practice letter sounds
-Know your phone number, address, city, state and zip code
-Practice tying shoe laces
-Practice hanging up sweaters, sweatshirts, jackets.
-Practice zippering your jacket
-Practice printing numbers from 1 through 30
-Review kindergarten sight words
Second Grade: Dear Parents, Welcome to SECOND GRADE!!! You may use this link from Pearson Education to prepare your child for our September 27th opening. There is a 25 page activity guide to copy. Please omit page 10 since cursive is taught in grade 3 at FTS. Also omit page 24 as a supply list for grades K-2 has already been posted. Feel free to pick and choose any of the activities you would like to do. This is just a tool to get your child warmed up for the start of our school year. Third Grade:
-Write letters to grandparents telling about their summer.
-Go on DiscoveryEd Web site There are many choices for enrichment there.
-Study and review addition and subtraction facts. Facts should be memorized for third grade.
-Read a biography and write several interesting facts you learned about the person.
-Study U.S. states and capitals and learn locations of states.
Fourth Grade:

Spanish:
Spanish grade eight: Complete summer project re: travel brochure (video, poster) for Spanish-speaking people about the wonderful places to visit in and around Franklin Township.
Begin work on presentation about your family and study notes for unit 6.
Grades 5-8: Read bilingual children's books. There are many in the Hunterdon County Library.
Read Esperanza Rising by Pam Muñoz Ryan. Purchase both the English and Spanish
versions and read them together. The publisher is Scholastic Books.
Check the website epals.com for interesting global projects.
Grade 5: If you have not completed the story or the picture about your childhood memory,
please work on this. The book is almost done!
All grades: Listen to Spanish music. Watch Spanish videos. Practice your Spanish words.
