TEXTBOOK-The American Nation
Student Responsibilities

-Reading and Writing: Textbook Chapters #13-24.
-Reading primary and secondary resources as assigned
-Historical vocabulary building
-Skills for Life, Graphic Organizer Skills, Map, Chart and Graph Skills
-Lecture notes, video questionnaires and student notes
-Assessment: chapter exams and alternative-e.g. Graphic Organizer
-Connections with Literature and Interdisciplinary Data
-Marking Periods, #1 & #2: Oral project: topics are selected by the student from a list provided by the teacher.
Marking Period #3: No oral project.
Marking Period #4: Independent study project

1. All assignments are given on a written monthly assignment sheet as well as posted on the side chalk board with a “DUE DATE.” It is the responsibility of the student to keep a copy of all assignments into his/her assignment book or binder.
2. Students are to use blue or black pens for all assignments including exams. Failing exams will be sent home for parental review and signature and returned the next school day.

3. Students are advised to retain all notes and skills data for the entire year. At the completion of the marking period, the data from that particular marking period may be removed from the three-ring binder and stored at home.
