Did you know that there is a polo field in Franklin Township? There is one at Fieldview Farm and it’s the only one! Polo is considered an English and Western sport the English is for the saddle and the Western is for the bridle. The polo field was put in 1995.

Laura and Jim McDevitt own this 150 acre horse farm.

They love working on their farm by themselves, but they need outside help so they hire trainers for their horses.

They choose to work on a horse farm because they love horses and riding.
On their farm they have a quarter horse, 5 American Thoroughbreds, and 1 Welsh American Thoroughbreds Cross.

They have 4 foals which are Flash, Threes, Argentina, and Rambo.

Now for some interesting history! In 1712 Thomas Gardiner Senior owned part of the 2,225 acres, then 46 years later in 1758 Jeremiah King owned 193 acres of the farm. Later, in 1834, the actual dwelling was listed for the first time in county records.

Laura and Jim McDevitt have a benefit each year for Bonnie Brea School in Liberty Corner.

The Bonnie Brea School is for mentally disturbed boys from ages 11 to 18. The benefit has been held the last two years in June. All the tickets and money go to the school. Some of the events that are held during the benefit are the drill team,Tewksbury basset hounds, chase rabbits and hares, bagpipers, and food. This is the 2nd year of the Benefit.

Laura and Jim McDevitt enjoy farming so much that they would like to continue their farm forever.
