History of the Project

On May 23rd and 24th, 2000, the students of the Fourth Grade at Franklin Township School in Quakertown, New Jersey visited six farms. Our purpose was to create a web site that would help preserve the history of these very special and unique places. At each farm we photographed and interviewed the farmers and their families.

The success of this first phase of the program was so great that it was decided to continue it in the 2000-2001 school year.

On May 15th and 16th, 2001, the fourth grade students of Mrs. Strysky and Mr. Kramer's class visited seven more farms in Franklin Township.

The Historic Farms of Franklin Township, Hunterdon county, New Jersey, is a collection of our research, writings, and photographs. The web site continues to grow.
