The most historic place in Franklin Township to me is my farm and my farm house. It is located on Rake Factory Road. Well, it may not be very historic, but it has a lot of history. The house was built in the 1800's. The house started out as two rooms downstairs and three rooms upstairs, but now there are three rooms upstairs and three rooms downstairs. It has a stone foundation. It had no bathroom just an out house. The bathroom was put in around 1950. The house was heated by fireplaces. The house had no running water or electricity. The farm sits on about 50 acres. The Misishic's, who owned the farm before us, made a living by raising pigs, chickens, and cows. Today we raise pigs, and we grow corn, soy beans, straw and mulch. On the farm we have about 20 cats and of course a dog. Today the farm is still ran by a family. The farm is special to me because it's like the old fashion way of living and I love animals.
