I live on River Road in Franklin Township. Our home was built over a hundred years ago. We bought it from an 86 year old woman named Mrs. Schwain. She was an immigrant from Germany. Mrs. Schwain had no electricity or bathrooms, only an outhouse We were not allowed to tear it down, because it was a historical site. My house overlooks a bridge that was built in 1885. Near the bridge I see many different birds. My favorite is the blue heron. Every morning I see it when I go to school. The best part of my house is the part that Mrs. Schwain live in. She had beautiful gardens. Her property was once called Camp Buck because so many deer lived there. Mrs. Schwain would be happy to known that her home and animals are taken care of. Spring, 1999 |
