Our goal is for students to write about topics that describe events, express personal opinions and stretch their thinking and imagination. We would like the students to write a short piece (a paragraph) about one of the following topics.

1.

Describe what you think was the most important event that has happened over the last 1000 years.

2.

Think about something that you feel would make the world more beautiful or better in the next millennium. Describe and explain your idea.

3.

Describe how you plan to spend New Years Eve and New Years Day. Are you having or attending any special millennial celebration? Describe you plans.

4.

What does entering a new millennium mean to you? What are your hopes for the future?

5.

Describe who you think was the most important person over the past 1000 years.

6.

What is your school, town, state or country doing to celebrate the millennium? Describe the plans.
