Dreams

I am very excited thinking of the new millennium. Will be world more beautiful, will people be better, will the life be busier?

I am a young man and my feelings are full of hopes. I want to make everything around me to be better and better, more and more beautiful.

In the last years of this century the achievements in the scientific and technological field have been amazing. We have an international network video cameras and personal computers linked to the Internet. It let us be in touch with people from many countries all over the world. We can find out about their life, culture, traditions and customs, we can change ideas about nowadays problems and we can help each other to improve our way of life.

I hope we shall be able to do all our best together to save the nature, to avoid the natural disasters, the violence and the wars.

Many young people in the world are worried about the environments, pollution
and the wickedness.

All my hopes for the new millennium are based on friendship, mutual aid and kindliness.

In my opinion the most important event in the last 1,000 years is my birth. This is not a selfish affirmation because if I haven't been born I couldn't have seen all the beautiful things that exist on the Earth. For all of us, the most important thing is himself.

Think what would happen if none of us had been born! It is horrible to think that the Earth could be an empty planet!

Terra is like a giant puzzle. I am only an unimportant sign on it. But the world is made of thousands, millions signs like me.

That is why I think every human being has the right to consider himself the most important in the world!

The most important event in the last 1000 years is the development of science and technique. Using machines and engines people could travel around the world could travel into space and discover new planets. Nowadays distances aren't very long. We can go from Romania to Britain in three hours, we can cross the oceans by big, modern and comfortable ships, and we can go to ice- land. Now we can use personal computer, video cameras linked to the Internet and we can discover many new things all over the world and we can make a lot of friends from many foreign countries.

In my opinion the most important event in the last 1,000 years was the 1989 Romanian Revolution. I was only one years old, so I cannot remember anything about that day, but my parents told me about the happiness of the Romanian people. On the 22nd of December 1989 Ceausescu's dictatorship finished and the Communism died. We live now in a democratic country, but we have a lot of things to do in order to help Romania to be a rich country.

The most important thing that man built in the last 1,000 years is the airplane. Since the Wright brothers made the first one in 1906, the airplane has evolved very much.

When the first jet engine was built, the airplane broke the sound barrier. In 1969 the great dream of all mankind was realized. The first man walked on the surface of the Moon.

The helicopter is the little brother of the airplane and it is the machine that helped us in our search and rescue operations.

For me the next millennium means hopes for the future: more peace, food for hungry people and the possibility to travel in the space. I'd like to visit the planets of the space!

The entering a new millennium is special for me, because I am young and I hope the world will change for everyone.

The children must be more protected and the government must provide better conditions for everyone. Also, the children education must be a priority for every country of the world!

I'd like to learn in better schools in order to become a member of my society.

In my opinion, the most important event in the last 1,000 years was the Union from the 1st of December 1918. On that day the Romanian people succeeded in creating an unitary state, by joining Transilvania to Moldava and Muntenia.
