My state is Texas. I would change the flag to light purple, medium purple and a dark purple with a big blue star in the middle. I would like this flag because this is an unusual state and these are my favorite colors. Next, I would change the tree. My favorite tree is the pine tree so I would choose the pine tree. I would change the bird to a woodpecker. I love these birds. Those are the three state symbols I would change.
My state is Texas. Our state flag is now red, white, and blue. I would want red, black, and white. My new flag would have white and black bars with a red background and black stars because I am from Ingram and these are the colors of this school. Instead of a bluebonnet for a state flower, I would have a yellow dandelion because you can find them all over Texas. My state animal will be a mountain lion because I like to run fast and mountain lions run fast also.

The reason why I changed my state flag's colors is because you asked me to and blue and red are my first favorite colors. Green is my second best color. My state's bird is a mockingbird and I am going to change it to a blue bird because my family likes blue, even I like blue. I like birds, too, just like I like blue.

The reason I would like to have it called "The Star" is because I like the stars in the dark sky. Our motto is "Friendship" but if I could change the motto it would be "Peace" because friends say "Peace" to each other. The state tree is the pecan, but if I could change the tree it would be an apple tree. The reason I pick the apple tree is because almost everybody likes apples.
Our state's nickname for Texas is '' The Lone Star State.'' If I could name our state something else, it would be "The Ranch" because when I think of Texas I think of it as a big ranch, and that is why I would want to name the state " The Ranch." Our state, Texas, has a pecan tree. I would want our tree to be a "Peach Tree." I really like peaches. In the state of Texas, we have a mockingbird for our state bird and I wanted to change that bird to a parrot. For a flower in our state of Texas, we have a bluebonnet. I love bluebonnets but we could change that flower to a sunflower. Sunflowers are beautiful, and so are bluebonnets, but sunflowers are more exiting and prettier than a bluebonnet. The colors of our state are red, white, and blue, but I think they should be yellow for the sun, blue for the sky, and green for the beautiful grass we have in Texas.

If I could pick a state dinosaur, it would be the pterodactyl because they fly. They could fly people to school and their jobs. It would save gas and it would not pollute the earth. If I could change something else, it would be the state bird because the mockingbird is boring. You never see the mockingbird, but its color is a dull gray and its song is ugly. I would choose the hummingbird because it is very fast, little and can get away from the animals that are hungry.
The colors of my state are red, white, and blue. If I changed the colors they would be red, white, and black because those are the colors of my school. That means that every time I wear the colors of my school, I will also be wearing the colors of my state.
If I could change the state dance, it would be the Macaroni (Macarena) because they are good singers, and the music is hard core. They have different versions and everybody loves them. If I could change the state motto it would be ''Cool State'' because we have the coolest people in America.

If I could change my state flower it would be a sunflower because it's big and pretty and it's yellow like our state. Plus, the middle of the sunflower would stand for the rough running mountains that have been climbed on, and have been torn into pieces for roads and buildings.
My state is Texas. My state's nickname is THE LONE STAR STATE and if I could change it, I would change it to "The Jibber Jabber State" because there is a lot of talking going on here in Texas. My state's bird is a mockingbird and if I could change it, its name would be the DOVE, the symbol of peace and love, because people talk nicely in Texas. My state's tree is the pecan. If I could change it, I would change it to the oak tree because the oak tree stands strong and Texas stands strong too.

My state has no animal so if I could make one up, it would be an armadillo, because they are so ugly they are cute.

My new flower would be a sunflower because it is a bright yellow color like the sun, and Texas is a bright sunny state. Sunflowers are huge flowers and Texas is a huge state. My last choice would be a new state bird. That new bird would be a red bird because my favorite color is red and I like the sound of it.
We think that our state dance should be changed from the Polka to the Macarena. We chose this because the Macarena is easy to learn, popular, and appreciated all over the state. The Macarena is a good dance because people of all ages like it.
I think Florida should be called the Old Folk State or The Retirement State instead of The Sunshine State. I think that because most old people or retired people live there to enjoy the rest of their life. I have proof. 3 people out of 5 people know someone that is old and or retired. I don't know, but it is something with the sun and the other people you can meet.
I think we should change New Jersey's state symbol to a peace sign. I Think we should change New Jersey's state symbol to a peace sign because a peace sign means peace and it would be nice when people think of New Jersey they think of peace.
I want to change the state insect to the ladybug, because ladybugs are one of the most helpful insects in New Jersey. They eat many harmful and annoying insects such as Aphids, insects that eat and destroy plants. Also their numbers have increased greatly in the few years.
I think we should change the scallop shell (New Jersey's State Shell) to the muscle. I think we should change it because I find them a lot. There are a lot on the Jersey Shore. There are kind of popular. There represent the shore if some one thinks of the shore. It also provides food for the sea gulls.
I would like the horse to be changed to the rabbit because they eat vegetables (they are herbivores). That is good because our state is the GARDEN STATE ! The rabbits are out all year along. So we can see them. We would like the animal changed to rabbits because they are cuddly, cute, and nice animals who do not harm people!
I would like to change the insect from a Honey Bee to the butterfly because they are pretty, clean, and our state is clean and pretty! Butterflies don't hurt anyone or sting like a bee.
I would like to change the tree from the Red Oak to the Pine Tree because the Pine trees are out and alive all year! There would be a lot all over our state especially in the Pine Barrens.
If we could change the state symbols we would change:
1.Dance- from polka to macarena because the polka is hardly ever danced to anymore and the macarena is one of the most famous in the state.
2. Fish-from the Brook Trout to the Goldfish because Brook Trouts are hardly kept as family pet and the Goldfish is one of the most famous fish in N.J.
We want the ladybug to be be our insect for New Jersey because the ladybug helps keep the bugs away that ruin the Garden State. The ladybug is not harmful and pleasant to see. The ladybug is very popular in New Jersey and it would be a good state insect.
The first graders wanted to change the state flower for Indiana, and this is their idea:
The state flower should be a rose.
It smells good.
It can be the color of our flag.
It's pretty.
You can give it to anyone to show that you like them.

State Dance-----River dance-----because Indiana has so many rivers.
State Animal----White Tail Deer-----It is the largest mammal in our state now.
State Insect----Mosquito-----There are so many of these in Indiana.
State Colors----Red and Black-----Red would represent Indiana University and the Black would stand for Purdue University
State Bird------Robin-----It is a very common bird and almost everyone can find it in their backyard.
State Motto-----"Pottowattimi Stamping Grounds"-----Many Pottowattimi Indians lived in this area at one time.
State Nickname--"Land of Mill and Fields"-----Many parents work in the steel mills and Indiana is the heart of the nation's breadbasket.
State Dinosaur--T-Rex-----This is the biggest and strongest of all--just like our state is. Even though we are small in size, we are big and strong.
The flag is the Australian flag with a crown on the top.
The flower is the Pink Heath .
We made our own flower, plant, colours, bird and mascot.
Our colours are purple and blue, our flower is the Bottlebrush.
We also made up a bird: the Seagull. Our plant is the Gum Tree and our mascot is Vicki the Kangaroo.
