The Interview

If I had a choice to interview an animal I would choose a chipmunk. I think the chipmunk would say that too many people liter. Some people just try to make a basket by throwing garbage into the garbage can. Those people miss a lot, but they just leave it there. The chipmunk wouldn't like littering because say a baby chipmunk found some liter and tried to eat it. The garbage could be old, moldy garbage and that wouldn't be good for a chipmunk to eat. And that was our interview with Mr. Chip Munk.

Caring For Our World

An object that many people throw away is plastic bottles. They can be used to form molded rocks like what I have at my house. Also it can make plastic lumber, toys, and vinyl siding.

A lake can be affected by pollution when people throw oil, gasoline, trash, in the water. We can post signs saying NO LITTERING FINE $20,000 to help the lake.

CARING FOR THE WORLD

If I interviewed an animal. I would choose my dog. My dog's name is Tucker. Tucker is very funny. Tucker loves food and attention. For an example say if someone littered McDonald chicken fingers. My dog would eat it. Tucker would also get into it. I would not like someone littering because my dog could choke on it, and he could die.

A beach can be polluted. The pollution can be stopped when a boat gose out to the ocean. The people on the boat shouldn't take food with a wrappers or a can. The trash makes its way to shore because the waves takes the trash on to the shore.

People on the beach shouldn't litter because if a animal finds it they will eat it. If the animal eats it, it might choke. We can stop that from happening if we put up sings that say "$500 doller fine for littering."

People should recycle. Some things to recycle are wood which could be used for paper, a bridge in the woods over the river or creek, also a nice camping fire or fire at home. All of those things we need and I think they're very important. Recycling is something very important and it can be useful for very many things.

Caring For Our World

The animal I interviewed was a dog named Spike. Spike thinks that people do not treat the world good because he sees all the trash in parks when he takes his walks.

Trees

A plant that makes the world more beautiful is any type of tree. Trees supply oxygen which all people need to live. Millions of trees are cut down each year to make room for buildings and houses. I think people shouldn't do this because what harm do trees have. I love trees! In my old house, I used to have a huge tree. I climbed it every day! Good thing I didn't fall out. There is nothing like siting under a really shady tree on a super hot day drinking ice cold pink lemonade and eating yummy chocolate chip cookies made from scratch. Earth Day is coming and I think trees should be recognized. They supply homes for birds, squirrels and even bugs! If trees were gone, then so would be every specie of every kind!

Caring For Our World

About a week ago I interviewed a tree and a bush. The tree said that people were always cutting them down and all the pollution from the machines would eventually kill all the trees in the forest. He even said that one day garbage from the city was landing on him because of the wind blowing the garbage into the woods. I also interviewed a bush and she said that people would throw trash in her and dump juice in her and then throw the can at. She is sick of it and want's it to stop!

An object that many people throw away is newspapers. We can recycle them so we don't keep on cutting down our trees. It takes a lot of trees to make a Sunday paper. Another is aluminum cans. People throw them away when we can recycle them to make base-ball bats.

I think that parks are places that are polluted the most. I think a park will be highly effected by pollution because a lot of people have picnics at the park, and they are in such a hurry to play. They through the garbage on the ground. It will effect the park because the animals may eat the garbage. People could stop this by picking up garbage at the parks.

Megan

Interviewing a Manatee

If I could, I would interview a manatee, because they are endangered. they would also tell people not to litter in any water. They would also tell them not to speed with their boats, so they would not get hurt in the propellers. I think these are all good ways to treat the environment.

Our Project Idea

If I could interview an animal it would be a dog, my black lab, Cody. I would ask Cody many interesting questions.

" I think the people who throw away stuff we can use".

" What would you do if many people throw away stuff"?

" I would use it for recycling or something that we have use for the stuff".

" Very good Cody, I'm proud of you !"

" Bye"

" All see you next time Cody!"

An Interview

" Hello I'm Eric here with Mr.Chipmunk to talk about pollution."

" Mr.Chipmunk what do you think about all this trash?"

" I think it STINKS! Every time I go into my nut storage holes I find a mixture of trash and food, and any time I try to get a breath of fresh air I get car exhaust!"

" Mr. Chipmunk tell the people 2 ways to help prevent pollution. #1 put your trash in the garbage cans. #2 ride a bike sometimes because it's beneficial for your body and the air.

" Mr. Chipmunk how are you dealing with all this pollution?"

"I move all over to get away from the pollution."

" Where are you going next?"

"Jamaica because there is no trash!"

" Well there it is folk a mammals opinion on pollution."

"Plastics"

Many people throw away plastics. If everyone recycled plastics, we would get more uses from them. Only 5% plastic products are recovered in the US and are reused. Plastics are made up of large organic (Carbon containing) molecules that can be formed into a variety of products. Plastics can be made hard as stone, strong as steel, transparent as glass, light as wood and elastic as rubber. They're lightweight, waterproof, chemical resistant, and produced in almost any color . More than 50 types have been produced and more are currently under development. All plastics can be recycled. Thermoplastics can be remelted and made into new products.

Thermo-setting plastics can be ground , mixed, and then be used as a filler in moldable Thermoplastic materials. Chemical recycling is a depolymeration process that uses heat and chemicals to break plastic molecules down into more basic components which can then be reused.

For health reasons, recycled plastics are rarely made into food containers. Instead made into items like carpet fibers, motor oil bottles, trash carts, and textile fibers. I think many people don't recycle plastics because it's time consuming to collect and sort plastics by color, density, and chemical composition.

If I Interviewed a Sea Turtle

If I interviewed a sea turtle it would probably say that we don't take care of the water. Like when we have oil spills, or when we throw garbage in the water. Plastic utensils, anything plastic, etc. shouldn't be put in the water. Many fish, small whales, turtles, and other animals can choke on these things. By throwing these things in the water we are killing the animals this way. If there are no animals life will die out.

Caring For Our World

This just in, Ryan Siegel, has interviewed a plant about the environment, Here is what Tuly Tulip had to say, "Ever since people have had machines more plants have been dying and there have been dying and there have been factories on us witch is annoying and deadly for us plants." There you have it folks what the plant thinks about the environment. Oh no, Tuly Tulip has been stepped on!

CARING FOR THE WORLD

I just interviewed a BIG FAT BLUE WHALE!!!!!! He said, "A lot of people pollute when they go fishing, like when they are done they throw their bate away, isn't that horrible?

Interview

If I could interview a plant , I think it would be a daisy.

"Hello." "I am Emilie Milcarek here with Mr. and Mrs.Daisy" " Mrs.Daisy, how do you think people treat the environment?" "Well , I don't think that people treat the environment very well because they keep polluting the air and they keep littering." " Ok , now Mr. Daisy , how do you feel about the environment?" " Well I don't feel so good about it either because we give those people called humans oxygen and all they give us is trash and carbine dioxide."

"We feel your pain Mr. and Mrs.Daisy." "Is there any thing you would like to say Mrs.Daisy?" "Well, yes there is something else I would like to say." "And what is that Mrs.Daisy?" "Well,I think this is so bad because just yesterday it killed my grand mother." "CCCLAUOOHC." "And see,now it just killed my husband."

"And that is all the time we have for today." "and this was Emilie Milcarek with Mr. and Mrs.Daisy.

Caring for the World

People should recycle more, for example old tires could be shredded into a material for surfacing driveways. Plastics toys or bottles that are no longer useful could be recycled into plastic playground equipment. Glass bottles can be made into new bottles, vases ,and windows. Used paper products like newspapers can be shredded and used as a mulch. Metal cans could be melted down and fabricated into car parts and household objects.

Now I will interview a Bengal Tiger(BT), a Squirrel(S), and a Redwood Tree(RT).

BT: "Everyone is killing my fellow tigers, often they just want our claws, teeth, and fur. They leave the rest of our bodies to rot! Now we are endangered."

S: "People chase me all the time. My friends, the deer, are shot at all day. We're shot at when we go to get food from the feeders. It's unfair!"

RT: "Humans chop down too many trees. Why don't they recycle? Then there will be more of us for future generations."

Interviewer: "So what should we do?"

BT: " Help endangered species and hunt less!"

S: "Leave food for animals, save trees for nests, and not chase & kill animals for fun!"

RT: "Stop pollution! Recycle more wood! Stop cutting down so many trees!"

So that was my interview. We should do what the animals and tree suggested. Then the world will be a better place.
