Indigenous People

There are very few indigenous people left in New Jersey. Most of there has already been lost .The few that are left do not promote themselves or their culture very well. There has been a huge growth in population in the state of New Jersey and the indigenous people have been pushed aside and their culture forgotten about. I think for them to keep their way of life and culture, they will need to teach others about their culture. Holding classes and outdoor activities, stories and how to farm, fish, and hunt. By opening up their way of life to others will help to assure that future generations will appreciate their very special culture and way of life.

Indigenous People

The Indigenous people in our area were farmers and made their living by working the land. The cost of equipment compared to the low prices paid for crops in our area has forced many of these people to sell their land to developers. An aspect of the Indigenous culture we could use to enrich our lives today is their strong work ethics and the ability to live off the land.

The people in our area feel very independent, but take away their cell phones and modern gadgets and they could not survive.

Many in our area work in the technology field or in the science field. They are able to improve our qualty of life through their research. They originated through the need to advance technology, to make life easer and longer.

Indigenous People

The indigenous people in our area are the Lenape Indians. They are a Native American tribe that settled in our area hundreds of years ago. They are in danger of losing their culture because there are not many of them left to pass on their traditions.

Hunters back then hunted animals for their skins for blankets, clothes, and other things. We hunt animals for food. I can avoid this by protesting it. If there weren’t hunters, deer would be in the road and get hit by cars.

Indigenous People of Our Society

The indigenous people of our society today are in great danger of losing their culture all together because today we can just go to a local Walmart to buy our needs. We can buy clothes, snacks, presents, blankets, sheets and so much more. We can go to a McDonalds or a Burger King to buy fast food. We do not need to work for things anymore. Today we can go to a Shopright or a B.J.’s.

Farmers had to work for things and grow and prepare their own food. What can be done to prevent this is the farmers that still grow their own food and make clothes can just not go to fast food restaurants, grocery stores, and department buildings. Or there could be a community with just indigenous people.

Indigenous People

The indigenous people of New Jersey are the Lenape Indians. They had to fish hunt and grow crops for food and they had to move as a pack, traveling by foot or canoe. What we have that are convenient are grocery stores, restarts, and even shopping good stores. For transportation we use cars, trains, and airplane. I think it could enrich our culture if we worked as closely together as the Lenape Indians. Each tribe was like a big family struggling to survive. Our culture makes some things too easy.

Farmers that are indigenous to Franklin Township are not in danger of losing their culture altogether. However, as sons and daughters grow up not many of them become farmers. New machines and letter ways of doing things help the farmers survive. So slowly their culture is changing. We will always need farmers.

Are there any aspects of your own culture, which you feel are detrimental to the quality of life of your nation? Where do you think these originated? Is there any way of eradicating them?

On route 31 extra lanes and jug-handles are being added to the road. People are moving here with their cars and trucks and making the roads crowded. Too many homes are being built in our county and we are loosing farms and historical places.

These things are happening because people move here to buy homes that don’t cost as much as where they used to live. You could stop the builders by going through the New Jersey Courts because of the loss of historical things like the log cabin and the farms.

We could also change how many houses are built in our area.

The Culture In Our Area

The culture in our area in New Jersey comes from all over the world. The people make lots of money. We like to live in big houses that are nice. But we are losing our farmland that is being sold to build these big houses. Also it is getting more and more crowded on the streets, stores, and restaurants.

One way of stopping the building is to buy the farmlands and instead of building houses you can farm on the land.
