FTS Art Club
2024 ~ 2025 FTS ART CLUB ANNOUNCEMENT!!!
ALL MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS INTERESTED IN APPLYING MUST SUBMIT THEIR ARTWORK BY Friday, October 4th.
The Art Club is held twice a month, on Wednesdays, every other week beginning October 9th. from 3:30 - 5:00pm.

Students who are applying for the program should be able to maintain an "A" average in art, consistently excel in all assigned projects, reach beyond the expectations of lesson objectives while in accordance with the academic criteria and the code of conduct which is located in the parent/student handbook.
Portfolio Requirements:
- You must be in grades 6th, 7th or 8th for the 20245- 2024 academic year.
- All new menbers must submit 3 pieces of original artwork (meaning you created it!)
- All work can be 2 or 3-dimensional, labeled with your first and last name and your homeroom class/grade on it.
- If your work 3-D (sculpture, ceramics, etc.), photographed/scanned work is also accepted, please email to [email protected]
- Artwork should reflect different media (paint, pastel, pencil, collage, etc.)
- Artwork should show variety in subject matter (portrait, photography, landscape, still life, fantasy, etc.)
The FTS Art Club is designed to enhance the art making experience while strengthening the global intellect of each individual learner. This program is a wonderful opportunity for students who exhibit exceptional ability in the Visual Arts to explore new media and in depth concepts. The goal of the program is to provide a variety of sequential experiences leading to advanced artwork and critical thinking skills.
Student work will be reviewed during the first week of October . Please leave your work with Mr. Smith by Friday, October 4th. 2024. Students will be notified on Monday, October 7th if they have been accepted into the FTS Art Club. A parent/guardian permission slip will need to be signed and returned prior to the start of Art Club. It is imperative that all students in the Art Club make every effort to be at each meeting. Students in the FTS Art Club will be able to participate in painting school murals and art installations, assist in creating stage scenery for the FTS Theater, have their own featured section in the FTS Art Exhibit and create community wide art fundraisers.
