Mission Statement

The Department of Special Services at Franklin Township School DIstrict is dedicated to ensuring that every child—regardless of ability, background, or learning style—has access to the support and resources they need to succeed. Serving students from preschool through 8th grade, our mission is rooted in the belief that early identification and intervention are critical to a child’s long-term academic, social, and emotional development.

We are committed to creating an inclusive educational environment where all students are recognized for their unique strengths and supported through individualized instruction, specialized programs, and collaborative partnerships. By working closely with families, educators, service providers, and the broader school community, we strive to develop and implement effective, student-centered support plans that promote growth, independence, and confidence.

Our comprehensive services include early intervention for our youngest learners, special education programs, speech and language services, occupational and physical therapy, counseling, academic supports, and accommodations that meet the diverse needs of our students. We believe in proactive, compassionate support—ensuring that challenges are met with solutions and that every child has the opportunity to thrive in a safe, respectful, and responsive learning environment.

Together, we advocate for equity, celebrate diversity, and empower every learner to reach their fullest potential—academically, socially, and emotionally.
